Do I need a GP referral?

1

A GP referral is preferred, as it provides useful background information and ensures your GP remains informed of your care. However, self-referrals may be considered in appropriate circumstances. If you are unsure, please get in touch before booking.

How long is an assessment?

2

Initial Comprehensive Assessments typically last around 90 minutes.

Review Consultations usually take between 30 and 45 minutes.

Each appointment is structured to provide adequate time to explore your history, current concerns and goals, develop a provisional diagnosis, offer psychoeducation around your formulation, and discuss management recommendations.

How do prescriptions work?

Do you diagnose ADHD?

What if I'm in crisis?

What is your cancellation policy?

Do you provide therapy?

Do you accept health insurance?

10

Yes, upon request; otherwise, it is typically addressed to the referrer.

I do not prescribe medications within this clinic. Instead, I provide recommendations that your GP can prescribe, along with integrative guidance such as over-the-counter options and lifestyle-based, non-pharmacological approaches.

At present, comprehensive ADHD diagnostic assessments are not offered.

However, if you already have an established ADHD diagnosis, medication reviews and optimisation can be advised on an individual basis.

Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment.

If your appointment proceeds as scheduled, no further payment is required.

If you cancel or request to reschedule your appointment after your booking has been confirmed, a booking fee of €120 will be retained, and the remaining balance will be refunded to your original payment method.

As a rescheduled appointment constitutes a new booking, full payment will be required to secure the new appointment.

The booking fee reflects the reservation of dedicated consultant time and clinic resources.

The focus of the practice is consultant psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning.

Appointments are psychotherapeutically informed and place significant emphasis on understanding your experiences and developing a personalised formulation. However, this is not a psychotherapy service.

Where appropriate, recommendations for psychological therapy will be made.

Patients are responsible for payment of consultation fees.

Depending on your insurance policy, you may be able to claim reimbursement for part of the consultation fee. Please check directly with your insurer before your appointment.

Will I need ongoing follow-up?

The practice primarily provides comprehensive assessments and focused review appointments rather than long-term psychiatric care.

Where ongoing treatment is required, this will usually be provided by your GP, Community Mental Health Team, or another appropriate service. Recommendations regarding follow-up will be discussed with you following your assessment.
